‘AFTER THE PANDEMIC, WE ARE AVERSE TO SOCIAL ISOLATION, WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENS DURING MONSOONS’
Experts have a term for the dull and dreary feeling that monsoon brings with it. It is known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Dr Arti Bakshi, developmental psychologist shares, “Rains can trigger feelings of being low and dull. Many people feel this way. After the pandemic, we are averse to social isolation, which is what happens during monsoons when we are forced to stay home. The loneliness makes people feel stuck. Earlier, this was seen more in adults but now it’s seen even in younger adults and teenagers.”
