The staff of the company engaged by the leading private bank had stopped their van near ILD Mall to collect cash from a Maruti showroom when the robbers struck. The Maruti Eeco van, which had almost completed its collection round, was loaded with bags of cash at the time.
Police said they were investigating how the robbers may have tracked the van's route.
Three staffers - Vipin, Akhilesh, and Ranjeet — had been working with the cash collection agency for the past 3-4 months. They collected cash from hotels and showrooms in Delhi and Gurgaon and deposited the money with the Sector 53 branch of the private bank.
