Ishan Acknowledges 'Shortcomings' Kept Him Out Of WC Squad

Ishan Kishan played a beautifully-paced innings to set the tone for India's series-levelling win over South Africa in the second ODI here, then acccepted there may have been some "shortcomings" on his part which have led to the 24year-old missing the bus for the T20 World Cup.

"Obviously it's a bad feeling when you are not part of a big tournament which will give you good exposure," he said. "When you help your country win at a World Cup, that is a different feeling altogether. But I think there would have been some shortcomings that the selectors have noticed. Some improvements are required from my end and I think I can do better on those aspects. If I've hit 7-8 sixes today I know I have the capacity to hit 9-10 as well."
