Angel in Heaven

At M&B, we’ve been privileged to interact with mums from all walks of life, each with their own unique journey that captured our hearts beyond imagination. But this one is different. This one hit home. Braveheart Sakshi Agrawal’s strength and resilience is unmatched. Losing her three-year-old baby Nav in a tragic accident saw her lose a sense of purpose too. But nearly 2.5 years later, the now mum of two is slowly learning to see a light at the end of the tunnel. “I want my story to inspire other grieving mums. I want them to know that they are not alone,” says the director of Path Foundation for expectant mums, newborns, and old age homes. In a teary, yet hopeful, interaction with M&B, she opens up about the grief and trauma of seeing her firstborn slip away, and learning to get back on her feet while carrying him in her heart...

TWO BECOME THREE

“My husband Nipun, director at Path, and I were best friends for two and half years before we decided to be something more. Our relationship was like a Bollywood movie—inseparable friends who had to go through a lot of twists and turns before they realised there was something more! Five years later, we got engaged and were married a year after that.

“Deciding to start a family was a planned process. Nipun’s sister’s wedding was coming up, followed by his brother’s. So we thought we’d have our baby before these events. And that’s how our little Nav came into being. My pregnancy with him was a beautiful journey. The fluttering, the kicking, and all that movement inside was a feeling like no other. It was amazing to think that we created this tiny life.
