Parenting with a twist!
Mother & Baby India|September 2020
Traditionally, when we think of ‘parents’, we always think of the couple as a man and a woman. Of course, traditionally, there is marriage and the natural methods of conception. But times have changed, and many couples have embraced newer methods of conception which are also very normal. Couples may choose to have a baby because they want to cement their love and build a family together, and this can be under different circumstances which are do not follow ordinary patterns. Couples who are not able to conceive may opt for adoption or surrogacy, and they may face certain unique situations and challenges.

Parenting with a twist!

I distinctly remember consulting a mum who was going to have a baby via surrogacy but due to the taboo that is experienced, she did not want to make the news public and simulated the pregnancy just to portray to the world that she had conceived naturally. I also came across two women who were in a committed relationship and wanted to have a baby. They opted for IVF, so that at least one of them could have the experience of carrying the baby, breastfeeding etc.

Whatever may be the case—a baby is precious and is a symbol of love. And despite the challenges you may encouter, with a little bit of sure fire parenting pointers, the experience will be just as magical!
