1 ‘Felixstowe Self Defences’ by Les Cornwell
“These are the sea defences at Cobbold’s Point near Felixstowe. I shot this image on a very misty day, which combined with a long exposure and conversion to monochrome created the ethereal, minimalistic feel I was looking for.”
Digital Camera says Superb, Les, one of the best images we’ve featured in the reader’s gallery. There are really no words we can offer to improve this. Expertly captured with a high-class edit to finish.
2 ‘Spinning in the Lavender’ by Louise Harmston
“I took this photo last summer on a visit to a lavender farm just outside London. It was a very sunny day, so I backlit this shot of my daughter, capturing the sun in her hair as she was spinning around.”
Digital Camera says: A classic children’s shot, Louise – capturing backlit sun while your daughter is moving is no easy task. More importantly, you’ve captured a moment that you can now keep forever – that’s the true power of photography.
3 ‘Waxing Gibbous Moon’ by Brian Johns
“Taken from my back garden last January with a Nikon D780 and a Sigma 150-600mm F5.6 lens. Shot at 600mm, this is a single frame that was then layer masked over an over-exposed image in Photoshop to create the glow effect.”
