GOD OF WAR RAGNARÖK - Happy Father's Day
PLAY Magazine UK|January 2022
After news of its delay earlier this year, we finally got our first proper look at God Of War Ragnarök at the PlayStation Showcase last September and, looking at the bombastic trailer, if you thought the Greek gods had major drama, wait until you see the mythological mayhem the Norse gods have got themselves into.
GOD OF WAR RAGNARÖK - Happy Father's Day

FORMAT PS5, PS4 ETA 2022 PUB SONY INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT DEV SANTA MONICA STUDIO PLAYERS 1

As the freezing winds of Fimbulwinter cut through Midgard, father-and-son team Kratos and Atreus find themselves on the brink of Ragnarök, an immense war that will shake the core of the Nine Realms. As the two take cover to survive on the frozen tundra, Midgard isn’t the only thing that’s a little frosty. Kratos’ relationship with Atreus is becoming tense; now a teenager, Atreus wants to know more about his Giant heritage and his role in the war, details Kratos has kept from him. In full ‘protective dad’ mode, Kratos doesn’t want his son to repeat the same bloody mistakes as he made, but as war approaches and prophecies begin to come true, Atreus’ part in Ragnarök becomes inevitable.

HUNGRY FOR WAR

The war to end all wars may be around the corner, but Kratos has given himself more problems by angering two of the most powerful gods in Norse legend. Having both lost loved ones to Kratos’ axe in the previous game, Freya and Thor are eager to claim revenge in the form of the war god’s head. Violence is simmering, and it’s all going to boil over when Fimbulwinter passes.
