Proving PSVR is still small but mighty
Moss: Book II

During the four years since mousy heroine Quill graced our PSVR headsets, developers have been making the most of both the hardware and medium to evolve the VR experience in new, more challenging directions. Moss: Book II doesn’t feel like much of a technical leap forward from its predecessor, but that’s because there wasn’t really a need for Polyarc to change what was already working.

This second volume of Quill’s adventures continues from where the first abruptly ended – with the defeat of fire-breathing snake Sarffog. A confident adventurer with a firmly established bond with you, her Reader, Quill is now ready to take the fight to the mechanical armies of the Arcane to save Moss once and for all.

Cue a journey to new worlds, which appear like portals into pages of a storybook (like the original, this game uses the device of fading in and out between scenes with the sound of a page-turning). There’s also a fresh cast of characters, from other rodent allies to the leader of the forest sprites, all the better for returning narrator Morla Gorrondona (Destiny, Horizon Forbidden West), who’s clearly having a ball acting out the diverse range of voices like any great children’s storyteller.
