We are going to face setbacks and challenges in life. But it is up to us as to whether we want to suffer or keep moving forward.
Working in a global bank was a dream for me. When I got an opportunity unexpectedly, it was a boon. In addition, I got a handsome salary, the opportunity to work in a worldclass facility and multi-fold growth in my role and exposure as compared to my current job. I was truly delighted to take on the job offer to join.
Innately I have been sincere at my work. I decided to give my best to prove myself in the new environment. Of course, I had to compete with equally good or even better people. This was challenging enough to propel me to work hard. I would have spent more than 12 hours a day at work. This never bothered me at all as I was enjoying my work and, more importantly, I wanted to prove that I could do a good job even in a highly competitive environment.
As time passed, I started realizing that the bigger the role, bigger the responsibilities and the associated challenges were big enough. Within a year of joining the bank, I got transferred to another city. This was a welcome move for me as it was my second year of marriage and I was very excited to take my wife to a new city to live.
