Suffolk is a county with a deep history.
A midsummer spin on the quaint, quiet and coastal roads of Suffolk
Fact and legend weave together some interesting stories. Framlingham Castle, more than 800 years old, still stands impressively in the town, where Mary Tudor was declared Queen of England. Meanwhile, Sutton Hoo, near the banks of the River Deben in Woodbridge, is famed for its Anglo-Saxon cemeteries where an amateur archeologist, with the help of local land workers, discovered an undisturbed ship burial and contemporary artefacts. The Suffolk Spinner takes in both of these historical areas and more on its tour of the weird and wonderful towns and villages of East Anglia.
The clue is in the title of the Suffolk Spinner. With an absence of steep long climbs you should be clocking up high average speeds, making it a great event if you’re looking to tick off your first century ride or want a break from any tough hill climbing you may have been undertaking.
