JUST two days after turning 17-years-old, Karamoko Dembele helped the Hoops reach the Reserve Cup final with a Man of the Match performance and two goals. One was a well-struck effort that hit the underside of the crossbar on its way to goal, and another capped off a fine piece of link-up play between the midfielder and team-mate, Ewan Henderson.
Strikes from Luca Connell and Patryk Klimala rounded off last week’s 4-1 semi-final triumph over Hibernian at Lennoxtown – and now Tommy McIntyre’s side are preparing for a showdown with Aberdeen on March 16.
Last season, Karamoko played in Celtic’s Under-18 Youth Cup 3-2 final defeat to Rangers, before featuring as an unused first-team substitute when Neil Lennon’s men clinched the Treble Treble against Hearts at Hampden.
In the wake of his heroics against Hibs, the View caught up with Karamoko to talk to him about his goals, his senior side aspirations, and the benefits of seeing Neil Lennon and his backroom staff on the side-lines at reserve games.
CONGRATULATIONS ON A WELL-EARNED PLACE IN THE RESERVE CUP FINAL.
