6 Dark Horses Who Could It Make To India's T20 World Cup Squad

The Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) was a good exercise for a number of teams from across the globe to test what some of the players have to offer as far as the upcoming T20 World Cup is concerned. The same was true for Team India as well. Although the tournament had to be suspended indefinitely, the organizers managed to complete 29 matches, and sides got a decent glimpse of the talent on show. As a build-up to the T20 World Cup later in the year, we profile six dark horses who could make it to India’s squad for the mega tournament.

1. AVESH KHAN

Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Avesh Khan was among the most impressive performers of the truncated IPL 2021. Raising his game with Kagiso Rabada being unable to deliver for a change, Khan was the joint-second leading wicket-taker with 14 wickets from eight matches at a strike rate of 12.85 and an economy rate of 7.70. Khan was highly impressive with his variations, making an impact with his slower balls as well as faster ones. Khan was recently rewarded for his performances, being named as a backup in the Indian team for the long tour of England.

2. DEVDUTT PADIKKAL
