T20Is in 2020 kicked off with India defeating Sri Lanka 2-0 at home at the start of the year. Other prominent face-offs saw India blanking New Zealand 5-0 in New Zealand. England defeated South in South Africa twice -- first 2-1 in February and then 3-0 in November-December. Australia also got the better of Proteas away from home. Though Pakistan put up some brilliant individual performances, they had a mixed year in the format, drawing the series 1-1 in England before going down 1-2 in New Zealand. Even at 40, there is no stopping Mohammad Hafeez. The veteran batsman was the leading T20I run-scorer in 2020 with 415 runs in 10 matches at a strike rate of 152.57 with four fifties. His best of 99 not out came off 57 balls in the second T20I against New Zealand at Hamilton last week. It was in a losing cause though as the Kiwis hammered Pakistan by nine wickets.
Hafeez will be partnered by New Zealand’s terrific keeper-batsman, Tim Seifert. In 11 games, the 26-year old smashed 352 runs at a strike rate of 140.23 with four half-centuries. His best of 84 not out came off 63 balls in the same match as Hafeez’s 99.
