The defender reveals how a new contract will boost his recovery.

An upbeat Seamus Coleman has spoken about his positive early stages of rehabilitation after signing a new five-year contract with the Club.

The Blues defender returned to USM Finch Farm last month to begin his “baby steps” to recovery, having suffered a double fracture of his right leg during the Republic of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier with Wales in March.

Last week, the right-back revealed how signing a new deal with the Club - one that had been agreed prior to his injury - had given him a “massive boost”.

And despite recognising it was early days in his rehab work, the 28-year-old has been given more reasons to be cheerful with how the first stages have gone.
