Everton Ladies’ striker Courtney Sweetman-Kirk says a cup run would provide a perfect boost to what has already been a promising inaugural season for her on Merseyside.
The 27-year-old, who joined from Doncaster Rovers Belles in the summer, has netted four goals so far this term to sit just behind leading WSL 1 scorer Isobel Christiansen of Manchester City. It has helped the Blue Girls make a steady start to life back in WSL 1 after a tough opening against a handful of title-challengers.
