It was another STRONG RESULT for Valtteri Bottas of Mercedes, who took the pole and the chequered flag at the Red Bull Ring.
The Austrian Grand Prixwas a ‘snooze fest’ for the best part until a sense of deja vu took over towards the closing stages of the race. As it happened in the Russian Grand Prix in Sochi earlier this year, Sebastian Vettel hunted down Valtteri Bottas in a bid to win the race, but fell short by almost a similar margin of 0.6 seconds.
It was yet another strong result for Bottas, who is slowly closing the gap to the top two in the drivers standings. After claiming pole on Saturday (July 8), the Finn made a lightning start, reacting within 0.2 seconds of the lights going out, and took control of the race in the opening stint.
