Galaxy Note series may have started as an experiment years ago but today, Galaxy Note series is one of the most important series in Samsung’s smartphone lineup. This year, Samsung deviated from its usual Galaxy Note strategy and just like the Galaxy S series, the Galaxy Note range now includes two devices. There’s a smaller and slightly cheaper Galaxy Note 10 and there’s the top-of-the-line Galaxy Note 10+. This month we take a thorough look at the Galaxy Note 10+.
DESIGN
The Galaxy Note 10+ looks gorgeous but then it’s the case with all Samsung flagship phones in the recent past. However, one thing you’ll notice with the Galaxy Note 10+ is the design looks more refined and despite having a tall body and weighing under 200g, the phone is manageable. The high-polish metal and glass meld beautifully, giving an immersive, distraction-free look.
We received the Aura Glow variant, which we feel was a little too much for our taste but if you like changing hues based on how the light falls on the phone, Aura Glow is the one to get. For subtle colour lovers, there’s Aura Black and Aura White. Do note, if you dislike fingerprints on your phone, better to take a dark colour to hide those prints because Galaxy Note 10+ is a fingerprint magnet. As far as port and button placement goes, Samsung has placed the power button on the left-hand side, just below the volume buttons. We’re not sure the reason behind it but it certainly takes some time getting used to because all handsets in the market today have placed the power button on the right-hand side, including Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9. There’s a SIM card slot at the top and USB Type-C, S Pen and loudspeaker at the bottom.
All said and done, except for the oddly-placed power button and excessive fingerprint smudges, there’s nothing you can fault about Galaxy Note 10+’s design.
