Fold Phone Boundaries Pushed: Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5

Great upgrade for existing fold phone users

Samsung continues to push the boundaries in the folding phones space with the Galaxy Z Flip 5. They have been at the forefront of innovation in the folding phone space, with the Galaxy Z flip and Z fold phone series.

We reviewed the graphite colour Galaxy Z flip 5, with 8gb RAM and 256gb storage device and 3700mAh battery. It has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, along with 6.7 inch foldable dynamic AMOLED 120Hz main display and 3.4inch Super AMOLED gorilla glass cover display. It comes with a 12MP main camera and a 10MP selfie camera, both are capable of shooting in 4K.

Both the main and selfie camera produces good results for stills and video, the folding feature makes it a great asset for vlogging. Most users underestimate the camera capabilities of folding phones, so you will be pleasantly surprised to find that they produce almost flagship phone-quality images. As you would expect it performs well in daylight but the main camera is found wanting in low-light situations.

The Z Filp 5 comes with a 25W adapter and should reach 50% charge with 30mins of charging. It can also be charged wirelessly, but it won't happen beyond 5W levels and will feel extremely slow.

The speaker quality of the Flip Z is much better than its competitors in the folding phone space, and it's quite loud. This is especially useful given the multiple use cases of using folding phones for zoom calls and for watching videos when alone.
