Winnie Ntshaba is excited about the role the awards will play in communities
ACTRESS and businesswoman, Winnie Ntshaba, is over the moon about the return of her Royalty Soapie Awards. Even though she can hardly contain her excitement, she admits that she had to overcome some hurdles to bring them back.
WINNING PEOPLE’S TRUST
The awards, which were launched in 2015, stopped being held after the inaugural ceremony.
Winnie attributes this to the skepticism of people about the idea of honouring people in soapies.
“We‘re excited to be back. We were busy with the foundation as we wanted to make the awards more meaningful,” says the former Generations actress.
FUNDING ISSUES
However, she’s quick to point out the reason for the awards’ sudden disappearance.
