Sparks flew when Hollywood megastar Julia Roberts met cameraman Danny Moder 20 years ago. But the naysayers predicted it would never last.
“She’s flighty,” they said. “She’ll tire of him. It will end in tears.” But as it turns out, they were wrong.
On the couple’s wedding anniversary this year, Pretty Woman star Julia, 53, declared to her millions of followers, “19 years. Just getting started.”
And Danny could hardly hide his joy, saying, “Today we start our 20th year of marriage… just holding on to this beautiful girl one day at a time. One epic day at a time.”
Now “thoroughly enjoying” raising their three children – twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 16, and son Henry, 14 – and with her marriage to Danny still going strong, it seems Julia is having the last say.
“Truly, to this day, to this minute, he is just my favourite human,” the Erin Brockovich star shares. “Getting married to him – it was like, my life will never be the same in the most incredible, indescribable way.
“When I think about what makes my life my life, and makes sense and just shines inside of me, it’s him. Everything has come from that for me.”
The secret to their success, she says, is simply that the pair “really, really like each other. I’m more interested in what he has to say or his point of view than anybody else’s. We’re so lucky in that way. We just enjoy each other’s company.”
