Elizabeth Hurley has a knack for staying on good terms with her exes – with one exception. It is incredibly sad that of all her partners, the one she fell out with for many years was Steve Bing, the father of her son Damian. And Damian will never get to know his dad because Steve died suddenly in June.
But the actress and model, speaking out for the first time about the tragedy, reveals that she and Steve had reconnected before he died.
She tells, “We hadn’t been friends for a very long time, but about a year and a half ago, he came back into our lives. His death is very sad... just terrible. Horrific that it happened, but there is some comfort to know we had made up.”
It’s understood that Steve, 55, had got in touch over a court case to get his father, Peter Bing, to recognise Damian and another child Steve had fathered, and not remove their rights to inherit from the Bing family’s huge $720m trust fund. It’s believed Damian and Steve never met, but Steve wrote him a letter before he died.
“All I can say is that it was great to connect again with someone who... we had loved each other very much,” says Liz. “A long time ago.”
