But the 79-year-old actress has now revealed that, beneath the surface, she’s very insecure.
She tells Woman’s Weekly, ‘I seem to be somebody of enormous self-confidence, but that is merely masking an anxiety.
‘I used to care a lot about my body, but I’ve been looking at old photographs of myself and I was gorgeous, I have no doubt about that.’
She adds, ‘Not in my body, my body was always floppy and absurd – but my face was gorgeous.
‘And I wish I’d known that because it would have given me more confidence. I had none. I wasn’t sexually confident. I didn’t feel I was attractive, and I was enormously attractive.’
