Learning that his partner Saige Todd was pregnant was the least likely thing Josh Millgate was expecting when he received a letter from home. The last he'd heard, Saige was booked in for surgery to deal with medical issues that stood in the way of her conceiving.
“It was just so far out of the realm of possibility," says the 31-year-old pilot. “I open up this letter and all I see is an ultrasound and I just start bawling my eyes out. It's just overwhelming. I could hardly read the letter." The couple had been trying to fall pregnant for three years but had encountered one obstacle after another.
“I've got polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS),” Saige, 29, explains, “and they found a cyst on my right ovary, so I had to get that removed and my gynaecologist wanted to do ovarian drilling to stimulate ovulation naturally.
