Her most famous character, Seinfeld’s Elaine, hilariously struggled with bad dates and finding lasting love, but in real life, Julia Louis-Dreyfus found the man of her dreams when she was in college.
It was at university in Illinois that promising young theatre student Julia first set eyes on Brad Hall, the “gorgeous” co-founder of the Practical Theatre Company she joined in her quest to become a comedic actress. And looking back, the actress insists she “knew almost immediately” that Brad was The One.
“He looked like Bjorn Borg or something. I remember thinking early on that this was the guy for me, but I didn’t dare tell anyone, for fear they would say, ‘That’s ridiculous. You’re so young – you don’t know what you’re talking about’,” Julia has said. “So I kept that little secret close to my heart.”
But any sceptics clearly didn’t know a thing about love, with Julia, 60, and Brad, 63, celebrating 34 years of marital bliss recently. “34 years in, keeping our head above water,” Julia wrote, with sweet candid photos of the pair swimming. “Love and love to the love of my life.”
