Staying strong is a daily struggle made easier by his family

Keith Urban once revealed it's a "miracle" he and Nicole Kidman are still together after his battle with sobriety threatened to topple their relationship before it even really began.

Now, the couple will celebrate 16 years of marriage next month and Keith is grateful not only for the life he and the Aussie actress have built together - but how she and their daughters Sunday, 13, and Faith, 11, have helped him with the difficult task of staying on the straight and narrow.

"Keith doesn't like to think where he'd be these days without Nicole," a source tells Woman's Day of the Voice star, who checked into rehab for the second time four months after the couple wed in June 2006.

“Her strength, understanding, and patience saved his life. One of the major factors in him not relapsing is that he couldn't bear to hurt her or their girls."

STAYING SOBER

Keith, 54, admits his family have inspired him to stay sober.

"I had to find a different way to be in the world," says the country singer. “My dad [his late father Robert] was an alcoholic, so I grew up in an alcoholic house, and it took me a long time to believe I was wired the same."
