Life as a mum and businesswoman means never sitting still, but Corryn Spelman has taken running around to another level. In August, she ran 30km every day for 30 days, all to raise money for the memory of her baby sister Amanda.
Corryn was just two when Amanda died of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at six weeks old, and she has never forgotten her sister.
“I often talk to Amanda and think about her. I write her a letter every year on her birthday,” she says.
“I think I only really began to mourn her in my later years. I started to miss her, and I began to wonder if she was here, what she would be like.”
30 SPECIAL REASONS
This month marks 30 years since Amanda’s tragic death. Determined to do something to keep the memory of her sister alive, Corryn created the 30for30foramanda challenge, in order to raise awareness around SIDS.
“Amanda would have been celebrating her 30th birthday this August, so this year I wanted to do something special,” she says.
