My Queenstown book club descended on Lake Hawea Holiday Park for an overnighter this summer and it was perfect. You can bring your own tent and pitch up in this stunning lakeside spot 15 minutes from Wanaka as you head towards the West Coast. Or, as we did, you can book Denver Cove for some serious glamping. Five fabulous Colorado tents cluster around a green which sports its own mess tent for meals and socialising. Bring your chilly bin and if it gets cold at night, sip on your chardonnay safe in the knowledge that there’s an electric blanket on your bed!
