Bollywood Meets Hollywood! Nick & Priyanka's $8m Wedding

The stars spared no expense.

They only started dating in May and got engaged two months later, but Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s wedding celebrations were no slap-dash affair, with the Hollywood singer/actor and Indian superstar staging a week-long festival to rival the royal nuptials of her best friend, the Duchess of Sussex.

Things kicked off at the bride’s family home in Mumbai, where the couple had a Hindu puja ceremony to honour the upcoming union. The next day, 225 guests – including Indian prime minister Narendra Modi, but not pregnant pal Meghan – were welcomed by elephants and customary garlands at Jodhpur’s $90,000-a-night Umaid Bhawan Palace.

Afterwards, Nick, 26, and Priyanka, 36, were adorned with henna tattoos in a mehendi ritual, before their families went head to head in a game of cricket, won by the home team. That night, both families performed elaborately choreographed song-anddance routines at a traditional sangeet party, which saw the groom reunite with his Jonas Brothers bandmates, siblings Joe and Kevin.
