Stars are living in fear as they're targeted by criminals

Jennifer Aniston, Adele, and Madonna pay millions to call the ultra-exclusive sanctuaries of Bel Air, Beverly Hills, and Hidden Hills home. But like many other celebrities in the LA area, they're finding their fortress-like enclaves are being increasingly targeted by brazen criminals.

Last year, The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley, 45, was robbed at gunpoint in her Encino home, revealing later she “begged for her life" during the terrifying experience.

In December, 81-year-old philanthropist and former model Jacqueline Avant was murdered after disturbing intruders in her Beverly Hills mansion.

"Crime in LA used to be a 'poor area problem' according to the rich and famous, but now it's lapping at their gated communities and gold-gilded doors," a high-profile LA resident who wishes to remain anonymous, tells Woman's Day.

“Ever since Dorit was held at gunpoint and Jacqueline - who literally everyone knew and was friends with - was gunned down in her own home, the A-list is on high alert.”
