Through his paintings, artist Sachin Kharat, who resides in Solapur, tries to showcase the inner and outer appearance of the mind and body, the beauty of woman, her mystery and nostalgic nature. Keeping the eyes, eyebrows, forehead, nose, lips, ears, beauty of hair similar in all paintings, he tries to express the various steps of life. According to him if the paintings are seen by keen multi-angle versions one can experience a woman's appearance, her fragrance and touch.
Kharat admits to have been inspired by other artists. He observes their ideas and style of painting and paints in his own style. Through his art Sachin Kharat showcases the inner and outer mysteries of the mind, body and beauty of women.
Intricate artworks, plastered with vibrant and bold colours, rustic images of women in various forms, reflecting inner-most emotions, and an attempt to show the antaranga — beyond flesh and skin…Sachin is specialised in Indian traditional art and mythological study. His exhibitions have been held in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Barcelona, America, London, Paris, etc.
Excerpts from an interview:
How art becomes passion for you?
Becoming an artist was neither my passion, nor my aim. But I use to draw a lot and would enjoy also. And this hobby of drawing I got from my mother. She used to draw and seeing her keen interest in this I also got attracted towards drawing and art. In any case I was never a good student and at one point of time I had left my college. But like the saying goes, destiny plays an important role in one’s life, so things changed for me also. Leaving the college for fear of studies I took admission in Appasaheb Kadadi Chitrakala after my mother’s persuasion. After securing diploma from there I did my foundation course from the same institution.
