So make up your mind.
In 1956, Earl Nightingale wrote The Strangest Secret in an attempt to teach people the power of the mind, the power of thought. He said, "You become what you think about all day long. Some 40 years ago Dr Maxwell Maltz also wrote a groundbreaking book called Psycho cybernetics that explained this phenomenon. In this book, Maltz also coined the term self-image as a view we all have about ourselves, including our limitations and capabilities. Using his theory, we can assert that one can neither outperform nor underperform what one believes to be true.” In the last decade, further developments in neuropsychology have concluded that we have the power to change our thoughts and change our lives.
Your mind is a very powerful thing, and most of us take it for granted. We believe we aren't in control of what we think because our thoughts seem to fly in and out all day long. But you are in control of your thoughts, and you become what you think about.
And that little kernel of truth is the secret power of the mind. The people who always seem to be more happy, upbeat, and fulfilled with their lives are the people who have a good sound mind and who are always thinking about and dwelling on the more positive things in this life.
They choose, with their own free wills, to dwell on the more positive side of this life, versus always thinking and dwelling on the darker and negative side of the life. It’s really not a secret after all. The power is available to every single person, including you. And it's free.
It is nothing short of remarkable though that we are self-aware beings. It’s speculated our atoms come from two or more generations of exploded stars. If true this makes us sentient star dust. Yet for the most part, we don’t give our thoughts and our ability to think a second thought.
