Getting Your Show on the CFA Schedule

Over the last few years, the traditional CFA show schedule has been disrupted by COVID. Although the board issued a waiver to prevent clubs from losing their traditional show dates if they were unable to present a show during the pandemic, there are a number of additional reasons why many clubs are now seeking new show dates and locations. What do you do if, for example, you have lost your traditional show hall and must find a new location, or maybe just want to use the old hall on a different date? What if you are a new club, or one returning to show production after several years, and do not have a traditional date available? Fortunately, the CFA board recently took some steps to clarify the show scheduling process and help clubs in search of a show date.

The Show Scheduling Committee

At the 2023 Annual Meeting, President Rich Mastin created a new committee to supervise the show scheduling process—and in particular, to protect traditional show dates. Pam Moser serves as chair and Mary Auth serves as vice-chair. Together, Pam and Mary revisited the traditional show schedule, contacting regional directors and club leadership to verify dates and draw up a current traditional show date calendar. This calendar is now housed on the CFA’s website under the “Shows & Awards” tab and is listed under “Event Resources.”
