With a versatile body of work ranging from architecture and interiors of residences, corporate offices to retail and hospitality spaces, Arun Sharma is a force to reckon with. His design statement is unconventional, striking, minimalist yet bold and contemporary. His firm Atrey & Associates was established in 1997 as an architecture and interior practice and since more than two decades, the firm has entrenched its name and won many accolades. Arun has a sharp eye towards details and believes in designing every project in sync with nature. His design approach is much wider that allows all the technical and non-technical specification to come together and deliver brilliance. “A sustainable building must maintain the luxury and comfort required by clients, and this is very important. By sun path-oriented planning, we bridge this gap. In the gardens and courtyards, we use indigenous plants, while rainwater is recycled for landscaping and other purposes,” says Arun. He approaches different projects with different perspectives to ensure that each project is unique.
In a heart-to-heart conversation with the stalwart Architect Arun Sharma, we talk about architecture, luxury, sustainability, and his journey through out. Here’s an excerpt:
