- Buying in established technology from US firm Lucid
- Cars are set to feature innovative aerodynamics
ASTON Martin has revealed its early on future, with the brand's first EV set to break cover in 2025. We've also learned of technical details of the platform its cars will be based on and the motors that will power them, thanks to a new deal signed with American EV firm Lucid.
Aston is working on its own modular platform that will underpin everything from low-slung GTs and sports cars to higher-riding SUVs. At a recent briefing Aston chairman Lawrence Stroll told Auto Express that "we were always building our own platform, it's what we do very well.
"What was most important to me was to find the greatest technology to give us high performance," he added. "We know how to do luxury, but what's the best technology to accomplish our goal of having an EV on the market at launch in 2025? We believe Lucid represents the best existing, mature tech, with the highest horsepower and the lowest battery height."
