The midsize compact SUV space in India is massive. It's got automotive brands from all over the world battling it out for sales numbers. This includes vehicles that range from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, and although there are sedans in there as well, SUVS continue to dominate the sales charts. In fact, nearly 50 per cent of all vehicle sales in India are attributed to SUVs or crossovers. Hence, it's natural for brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, MG, Mahindra, Citroen and Tata Motors to have models that sit in the aforementioned price bracket. However, there seems to be a new trend emerging that aims to offer customers more style in the SUV space, one that sets these cars apart from the likes of the Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara, and others. It's time to welcome the SUV coupe. And the first movers are Tata Motors with the Curvy and Citroen with the Basalt. For anyone looking to step out of the norm of compact SUVs in terms of looks, this very well might be the answer.
