Two weeks ago, we sampled the £260,000 Bentley Continental GT W12 Mulliner, a 208mph, four-seat brute of a coupé with keen handling for what is at its core an out-and-out luxury conveyance.
Back seats, a capacious cabin with sumptuous decor and an ability to dispatch motorway and A-road routes with disdainful ease made us warming to its versatile 650bhp presence a formality. Few if any performance cars cover quite so many bases. Yet on paper, a similar experience exists for half the price.

A Peugeot hot hatch revival is on the cards, new CEO Alain Favey has revealed.
