Lexus has previewed its next generation of EVs, which its said will offer I ranges in excess of 600 miles and fully customisable driving dynamics, with a pair of bold concept models.
On display at the Tokyo motor show, the LF-ZC previews a BMW i4-rivalling electric saloon that's set to arrive in production form in 2026, while the LF-ZL takes the form of a large SUV that will crown the Japanese firm's future electric range.
The LF name, standing for 'Lexus Future', has been used for most of the firm's concepts, suggesting the production versions could take the ZC and ZL names.
Both models sit on a new next-generation modular EV architecture developed by Lexus parent firm Toyota.
This structure is designed to allow for a wide range of different vehicle shapes and sizes by dividing the vehicle body into front, centre and rear sections.
The LF-ZC is 4750mm long, making it around 200mm shorter than the current Lexus ES saloon.
It has a low bonnet, lowslung styling and an aerooptimised design that Lexus said will allow for a drag rating of less than 0.2Cd, which should help maximise efficiency and range.
The exterior design showcases the latest version of Lexus's design language, with a front end that retains a version of the trademark Lexus 'spindle' grille, while flared rear wheel arches boost the vehicle's overall stance.

One evening, two years ago, George Pappas was being driven down his local high street by a mate and mulling over whether to replace his Mk4 Golf diesel, a recent purchase that was boring him to death, when his girlfriend, also in the car, spotted an old BMW 3 Series at the side of the road with a 'for sale' sign in the window.
