Neuville Skilfully Claims Victory in Japan

In the FIA World Rally Championship's (WRC) grand finale, Thierry Neuville's perseverance paid off as he overcame Elfyn Evans to win the FORUM8 Rally Japan.

NEUVILLE, DRIVING A HYUNDAI I20 N, WAS BARELY four seconds ahead of Evans, who was driving a Toyota GR Yaris, going into the five-stage finale on Sunday. Neuville and Evans had been trading blows since the opening stage on Friday morning. The 2022 WRC season was set for an exciting final day and, as the cars roared into morning service for the final time this year, tyres were the topic of conversation. With conflicting predictions over whether it would rain in the early afternoon, meteorologists from both sides had their job cut out for them.
