Depending on the farming application, Swaraj tractors offers a wide range of products. The company sought to fill a void in the market for distinctive and compact-size tractors with the most recent version of the new ‘Swaraj Target’ tractor. The Target is especially focused on working in horticultural applications, which include producing fruits like grapes, pomegranates, sugarcane, etc. while using cotton fields as the source of raw materials for the textile sector. The horticulture sector is 30 per cent of the Agriculture GDP in India and is also becoming a world leader in the production of fruits. There is a significant growth considering a five-year CAGR of around 18 per cent in the 20-30 hp tractor segment. With a compact lightweight tractor, and the total tractor industry stands at six per cent.
Development of a new product is always a response to the customer needs, the Swaraj Target is no exception, the company claims. Having taken inputs from more than 1500 customers, the team had the project worked upon by employees with a framing background and can relate to the product and challenges faced. The OEM will initially debut two models in the 20-30 hp (14.91 – 22.37kW) category as part of the Swaraj Target range.
