Cummins Inc. relies on a deep duty cycle and application-based experience. The company’s focus on off-highway is as intense as its on-road play. A key driver of the sustainable mobility programs at leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the tier 1 supplier as per Antonio Leitao, VP - Off-highway, Engine Business & Europe ABO Leader at Cummins Belgium, is in a critical role to catalyse the energy transition journey. “I think for us, it is very important to reiterate this at forums like Excon 2023, where we launched a series of new engines. Be it the 10-litre engine crucial for our on-highway and off-highway customers,” he stated. Leitao further added that the company has also introduced hydrogen-based solutions for the market. He believes that the expansion of the product portfolio will help it to better serve global and local customers.
The tier 1 supplier has a range of options, from 4.5 to 6.7-litre at the lower end of the spectrum to 10-15-litre at the other end of the spectrum. We are focused on multiple solutions, from backhoes to excavators, the construction segment, the power segment and so on to give a context. “India is growing and we see the investments in the construction segment as encouraging signs. Offerings like the motor graders are showing signs of growth,” he stated.
