The year 2024 emerged as a watershed moment in healthcare, marking a transformation that transcended traditional medical boundaries. It was a year of unprecedented technological innovation, policy reforms, and a renewed commitment to patient-centric care that promised to reshape the entire healthcare ecosystem.
At the forefront of this transformation was the integration of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, which fundamentally reimagined how healthcare is delivered, experienced, and conceptualized. Dr. Jasdeep Singh, CEO, Care Group of Hospitals, captured this revolutionary spirit stating, "In 2024, healthcare innovation and policy saw substantial progress as the world continued adapting post-pandemic. A notable trend was the rapid adoption of digital health tools, artificial intelligence (AI), and data analytics, significantly transforming patient care and decision-making processes." Baldev Raj, Founder and Chief, PRIUS Healthcare mentioned how 2024 was a year of accelerated innovation in healthcare characterized by the widespread adoption of digital tools and policies designed to bridge gaps in accessibility and quality. “Telemedicine services flourished, with India witnessing a 35% increase in virtual consultations compared to 2023, facilitated by initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission (ABDM). Over 68.5 crore ABHA health IDs and 45 crore linked health records became pivotal in streamlining patient care and reducing redundancy in healthcare delivery,” he added.
