Some actors aren’t drawn in by the charms of stardom. They simply strive to perfect their craft and make inspired choices. Saiyami Kher is one of them. The actress has had an interesting career trajectory since she arrived on the scene with Mirzya (2016). Since then, she has been very selective with the scripts she picks up. Between Choked (2020) and Faadu (2022), she has grounded herself in realistic stories enhanced by her nuanced portrayal of Marathi-speaking characters. And while we know little about her process, she has been steadily ramping up her filmography with some of the biggest directors and co-stars, including R Balki, Abhishek Bachchan, and more. In an exclusive interview with Filmfare, Saiyami Kher opened up about her trusting instincts and the very real occupational hazard of getting emotionally attached to characters.
