Footprints of the Giants

It has been years since Hrishikesh Mukherjee left us, yet his words still resonate: Zindagi badi honi chahiye, lambi nahi.

This line, beautifully captured by Gulzar, encapsulates the essence of Anand, one of my favourite films and arguably Rajesh Khanna's finest performance alongside Amar Prem.

The film's writing, direction and acting are so beautifully intertwined that they carve a permanent space in your heart. In Anand, Amitabh Bachchan portrays Dr. Bhaskar, a young idealist who befriends his terminally ill patient, Anand. Through their friendship, Anand teaches us to seize the moment, to forget our pain, and to embrace joy, leaving behind cherished memories upon his passing.
