Avneet Kaur made her Bollywood debut with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Tiku Weds Sheru. The actress, who has done TV before, met Nawaz for the first time during the script reading stage. "He has always been punctual and I admire that in him the discipline he has in his life. During our initial meeting, he never struck me as a celebrity. We both read our lines, and he seemed to like the film. His professionalism bowled me over,” she states.
Working with a prominent actor like Nawazuddin Siddiqui made Avneet initially anxious. Her fears, however, were unfounded. She describes Nawazuddin as the sweetest co-star a person could hope for. “I was quite nervous the first time we started working,” Avneet explains, “But I eventually got to know that he is down to earth and not one of those actors who will not give you your space. He truly lifted me up, and our sequences together turned out to be brilliant with his assistance.”
She’s aware of the age gap between them but says that was the demand of the film. “If you’ve seen the film, you would have noticed he is playing this person who has seen it all and is yet smitten by a young innocent girl’s passion for making it big in films. He has to be older than me, as per the script’s demand.” The duo share an intimate moment in the film. Talk to her about that and she maintains that Nawaz was extremely professional and behaved like a gentleman throughout.
