Surrounded by get-well cards, many of them hand-drawn by children, the King couldn't help but laugh as he read one particular message last week.
"King Charles, at least you don't have to wear a cone!" one card read, alongside a picture of a disgruntled dog with a so-called "cone of shame" around its neck following a visit to the vet.
The humorous greeting is among some 7,000 letters and cards that have flooded into Buckingham Palace from around the world following His Majesty's cancer diagnosis many of which he's admitted reduced him to tears.
