Flying the flag for British talent at United Palace in New York, the Liverpool-born star exuded style in a black gown by Thom Browne to pick up her fifth Best Actress award for Prima Facie, which transferred from the West End to Broadway earlier this year.
"Overwhelmed" at winning her first Tony, Jodie told the star-studded audience: "This woman in this play has been my greatest teacher and I have to thank Suzie Miller for that, who wrote this magnificent piece.
"Without her, my performance would not be here, so this feels just as much Suzie's as it is mine."
The play, about a criminal defence barrister whose view of the justice system is turned upside down when she is sexually assaulted, is Jodie's first time on Broadway and has won rave reviews. The New York Times called it a "spectacular" debut and Variety said she "commands the stage", while The Washington Post wrote: "Jodie Comer doesn't just take the stage, she consumes it."
The Killing Eve actress was joined by a host of leading lights, including Jessica Chastain, Michelle Williams, Lupita Nyong'o and Samuel L Jackson, for the glittering evening celebrating Broadway's finest.
Fellow Best Leading Actress nominee Jessica brought a burst of sunshine in the form of a sweeping caped lemon-yellow Gucci gown, while Golden Globe-winning actress Michelle glittered in a sequinned column Louis Vuitton dress.
The actress looked delighted to be supporting her theatre director husband Thomas Kail, who was nominated for his work on the revival of the musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
