Hero leathernecks assigned to mall recruiting office disrupt jewel heist

FROM the Halls of Montezuma to the stores of Torrance, Calif., the U.S. Marines are on the job protecting Americans — and that includes a gung-ho recruiter and promising applicant who took down a pair of brazen jewelry thieves!

Security cameras at Del Amo Fashion Center mall caught Staff Sgt. Josue Fragoso pinning one of four would-be crooks against a merchant kiosk as an energized onlooker shouts the Marine Corps’ motto Semper Fi, which means “always faithful.”

Meanwhile, future fighting leatherneck Scott Elliott apprehended a second fleeing suspect.

“Marines are different,” declares Fragoso. “Marines are individuals that take action and do the right thing.”
