WAR of bloated egos has exploded between two of FOX News' biggest stars, insiders say.

Network sources report self-obsessed Greg Gutfeld hit the roof when veteran Sean Hannity replaced him in his own time slot to report on Donald Trump's Georgia indictment - because execs didn't think the pundit, who mainly pushes puns, was up to the task! 

"Gutfeld exploded when he learned he was sidelined," says a spy. "He pitched a fit right in the newsroom!" Sources squeal Gutfeld has been tossing tantrums since Jesse Watters won fired Tucker Carlson's prized 8 p.m. primetime slot- and was dubbed the heir apparent! Insiders dish Greg has been taking potshots at Sean for suffering an August ratings drubbing by woke MSNBC anchor Rachel Maddow.

"Greg's been telling everyone he would never have lost in a head-to-head with Maddow," blares a blabber. "He's treating Sean with zero respect - which is a dangerous game, considering how much equity Hannity has built there for nearly 15 years!" While a FOX rep vehemently denied its stars are battling, sources snipe the tension between the two formerly friendly newsers is hitting "the point of no return." Although Gutfeld has been king of his own time slot at 10 p.m., sources say his egotism and often offensive sense of humor are turning him into a potential liability for the storm-tossed network.

In the last few months alone, he has been blasted for saying Holocaust survivors developed "useful skills" through their horrific experience and suggesting women were responsible for a rash of low-level street crime across the nation! "He has high ratings, but he's nowhere near as untouchable as he thinks he is!" says a source.
