As Girls Aloud announce their 15-date arena tour, new can reveal Cheryl Tweedy is particularly excited about hitting the road in this brand new era for the band.
Last week, Cheryl, 40, joined the others to announce a much-anticipated comeback in memory of their bandmate Sarah Harding, who sadly passed away from breast cancer in September 2021. The iconic girl band said in a statement they are touring the UK and Ireland next year as a "celebration of Sarah, our music and our incredible fans".
A source tells us that Cheryl feels now is the right time for her to reunite with bandmates Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Nadine Coyle because her son Bear is almost seven years old and is aware that she is in the public eye.
"Bear knows his mum is a singer and she works, so he'll totally understand what she's doing, which makes a big difference," they say, adding, "He is in school now- and you can see by the tour dates that they've obviously planned around summer holidays and things. Cheryl won't want to disrupt his routine by taking him on the road - it's too hectic."
Bear's dad, former One Direction star Liam Payne, 30, and Cheryl's mum, Joan, 64, will be on hand to support the star during her big comeback, the source adds.
"Cheryl's very private when it comes to Bear, and keeps him out of the spotlight. He'll be at home with his grandma Joan. And of course his dad will be around too," they say.
