Pregnant Danielle Armstrong looked happier than ever when she threw her lavish baby shower recently, complete with guess-the-gender games and a stylish afternoon tea at an upmarket venue in Essex.
The former TOWIE star, 35, is due to become a mum for the second time next month when she and husband Tom Edney welcome another little one to their family, a sibling for three-year-old daughter Orla.
In an exclusive chat with us, Danielle says she was on cloud nine after celebrating with her closest friends and family, including best pal Ferne McCann, who is also having her second baby this summer.
“It was amazing, really lovely and really traditional,” Danielle tells us. “I had about 20 of my closest friends and family including my mum, Tom’s mum, our sisters, Ferne and all my close friends.
“The place we were in was really pretty, with Sex In The City vibes. We had afternoon tea, champagne and Nozeco.”
Adding to the excitement, Danielle’s friends and her mum Debbie organised a guess-the-gender game at the shower, testing an old wives’ tale of dangling a ring over a baby bump to see whether it swings back and forward for a boy, or in a circle for a girl.
“You have to have traditional games at a baby shower,” she says. “My test said a boy. And we got Ferne to do it as well and hers was saying boy, too.
“She doesn’t know what she’s having either so I can’t wait for us both to find out.”
